[Carol Law Conklin, Amity Farm Batik, River Sunrise – Lothlorien – Large Giclee Print]
This morning’s river is just a river
to me with my wine hangover
these trees just trees, just trees
’til I turn my dull squint to you
to see your eyes aglow, backlit with
artistic vision, and I know that
later you will render this scene
with a beauty which will haunt me
remembering
how it was just a river and trees in my bleary eyes
and so I try, try to see what you are seeing
the dimming veil of my headache lifting
then, just for a moment, to let
glory
in.
I do love the light coming in… maybe we just have to try to see something else than trees… maybe that effort is what change our world

Glory – yes. I asked if this original batik was still available as I would have been sorely tempted to purchase it. I believe the original is sold. You picked a gorgeous image… “this morning” it’s just a river, but oh, how spectacular it must have been after a glass (or two) of wine. 🙂
